In Curno, not far from Bergamo, in the year 2000, the first multiscreen cinema in Italy was opened by UCI, a joint venture between Universal and Paramount. The building is divided into nine projection rooms of varying capacities. The central hub of the complex is the atrium, topped by an elliptical dome, which becomes a space for entertainment. The complex also includes technical and service areas, administrative offices, changing rooms for staff, and storage rooms, some of which are located beneath the seating areas. An escalator, a hydraulic lift, and two comfortable curved staircases, with steps highlighted in dim lighting from colored optical fibers, provide access to the upper floor and the projection rooms, ensuring an orderly flow of the public.
