THE COMPLETE SAFETY
OF SEISMIC UPGRADING

Why improve your prefabricated building

Seismic improvement and upgrading are, above all, strategic and responsible choices.

Prefabricated buildings constructed before 2010 are solid and functional structures, but they were built during periods when seismic regulations were not mandatory across most of Italy.

Even a moderate earthquake can compromise roof beams, panels, and simply supported beams, creating safety risks and interrupting production activities.

Italy presents widespread seismic risk: even in areas with moderate seismic hazard, an earthquake can compromise prefabricated buildings lacking adequate structural connections. Understanding the seismic classification of your area is the first step in assessing building vulnerability and planning a seismic improvement intervention that ensures safety and operational continuity.

01

+ VALUE

01

Seismic upgrading increases the asset value of the building, improves insurability, and ensures compliance with legal requirements (Legislative Decree 81/2008 and regional regulations).

02

- MAINTENANCE

02

Thanks to next-generation prefabricated systems, interventions can be carried out quickly and in a controlled manner, without interrupting production activities.
Connection systems between beams, roof elements, and panels ensure effective and long-lasting reinforcement.

03

+ SAFETY

03

Investing in seismic safety means protecting people, work, and the local area, demonstrating a concrete commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

04

+ DURABILITY

04

Seismic improvement increases building durability, extends its service life, and helps preserve structural performance over time, reducing deterioration and wear effects.

Seismic upgrading

Thanks to its expertise in prefabricated construction, Magnetti Building can provide customized and comprehensive seismic upgrading and improvement interventions. From initial seismic analyses to the study of the most suitable solution, from rapid execution of all phases to complete safety control.

To increase the resistance capacity of buildings against seismic forces, Magnetti Building provides:

  • interventions to comply with updated regulations;
  • creation of connections between structural elements (columns, beams, roof elements, panels);
  • use of steel components fixed through mechanical and/or chemical anchors;
  • general strengthening of load-bearing structures.

Seismic upgrading activities are intended for buildings with different uses and are recommended even for areas not directly affected by seismic events. A gesture of care and responsibility that protects spaces and safeguards people.

From individual elements to a structural system

In older prefabricated buildings, beams, columns, roof elements, and panels are often simply supported. Without proper mechanical connections capable of transferring the horizontal forces generated by an earthquake, even minimal displacement can cause roof elements to slide, resulting in loss of support.

Seismic improvement involves the installation of mechanical connections (plates, bars, brackets) that bind the elements together. In this way, horizontal forces are correctly transferred and the building behaves as a single structural system.
